For the Research and Basic Technologies Department of our Tübingen location, we are looking for a

Research Scientist (m/f/d)


Your Responsibilities


  • Translate complex clinical challenges into clear, actionable technical requirements
  • Identify, analyze, evaluate, and, if necessary, implement novel technologies and scientific methods, with a particular emphasis on pneumology
  • Develop concepts for complex test stands and tissue models
  • Plan, evaluate, and document preclinical studies (in accordance with GLP)
  • Plan and manage scientific research projects, including third-party funded projects
  • Collaborate with, or coordinate interdisciplinary expert working groups as needed
  • Work closely within cross-functional teams comprising engineers, scientists, and healthcare professionals
  • Represent the organization at scientific conferences and keep up to date with the latest developments, emerging trends and innovations

Your Skills


  • Successfully completed degree in medicine, medical technology, natural sciences, or a related field
  • Several years of professional experience in a clinical environment, a scientific institution, or medical technology industry
  • Experience in the use of medical devices (e.g., HF surgery, water jet technology, and endoscopy) desirable
  • Strong knowledge in the field of pneumology desirable
  • Passion for medical and technical research topics
  • Proven track record in scientific work, including publications, medical writing, and reporting in compliance with GLP standards
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods and data analysis
  • Project management experience (classical and agile) desirable
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills, in particular with clinical and medical cooperation partners
  • Fluent written and spoken English
